Insurance & Medicare
Have Health Insurance or Medicare? Here's How to Use It for Your Oral Appliance.
If you have health insurance or Medicare and want to use your benefits to cover a custom oral appliance for sleep apnea, here is exactly how the process works — from your first call to your final follow-up.
Contact Our Office
Give us a call or send us a message. Our team will gather some basic information and get you started on the right path.
Telehealth Visit with a Sleep Physician
We will schedule a one-on-one telehealth consultation for you with a board-certified sleep physician. This visit is done from the comfort of your own home.
Home Sleep Test Sent to You
The sleep physician will send a home sleep test directly to you. You will wear the device overnight in your own bed.
Results Reviewed with You
Once the test is complete, the sleep physician will review your results with you and explain what they mean for your health and sleep quality.
Prescription Written (If Appropriate)
If your results indicate obstructive sleep apnea, the physician will write you a prescription for an oral appliance or a different therapy — the same prescription your insurance requires to cover treatment.
Initial Scans & Records at Our Office
You will come in to see us for your initial dental scans and records. This is how we design your custom-fit appliance (called a mandibular advancement device) with precision.
Receive Your Custom Oral Appliance
A few weeks later you will return to our office to receive your custom mandibular advancement device and begin treating your condition.
Follow-Up Care
We will see you for several follow-up visits over the coming weeks to ensure your appliance is fitting well, comfortable, and working effectively to treat your sleep apnea.
